In 1929, Len Thompson, a returned First World War soldier and farmer, developed his first fishing spoon in Abernethy, Saskatchewan. After many years of trying all kinds of manufactured lures, he was convinced he could make a better spoon.

Len's passion for fishing has carried on and has resulted in over 40 million spoons being made in the company's history (now, about 500,000 lures are produced each year).
