About Us
“An engaging and gutsy performer - as beautiful to see as she is to hear, Tamica rocks the house with an unapologetic "Wham bam, thank you ma’am!
"Tamica Herod, aka “Ginger" is less about her red hair and more about Tamica Herod's Blues. The blues of the red-headed stepchild, the soul on fire. In the tradition of red-headed chanteuses who sang before her, Tamica's Janis Joplin comes with a side order of Bessie Smith, and her Bonnie Raitt comes with a dash of Etta James" - Sean Cotton
“Versatility is Tamica’s middle name. Blues, R+B, Funk, Soul and Rock and Roll hits from yesterday and today, she delivers them all at 150%... a force to be reckoned with!” - Steve Grisbrook
"In a word: Unforgettable”

Tamica Herod, band leader and front person for “Tamica & the Boyz” has been a professional musician for 25+ years getting her official start with the Ruanne’s House Band led by Gerry Markman and has returned to Muskoka and is an active part of the Muskoka music community. Tamica delivers powerful and intuitive lead/backing vocals and percussion in band, duo and trio formations (Grant Slater, Sean Cotton, Tobin Spring, Gina Horswood) along with supporting up and coming artists live (Gina Horswood, Dani Strong) live and in studio. She interprets classic blues/rnb/funk/soul tunes to make them her own and aspires to translate a rootsy, soulful sound and to keepin the blues alive.
“Tamica & the Boyz” bring their energy and original grooves to numberous venues and festivals including Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival 2018, Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues Festival 2015-2018; Collingwood Jazz and Blues at the Station in 2015 & 2016 and season opener leading the All Star Band with Jerome Tucker.
