My name is Carrie and I am excited to be offering Alexandria Professional Body Sugaring, Waxing, Facials, Reflexology & Relaxation Massage at my spa, The Sugar Shack Spa.

Located in Nottawa, Ontario (just south of Collingwood), The Sugar Shack Spa is all about you and your results.  I promise to always work to high standards to ensure you have a great experience at every visit.  I will work with you to obtain optimal results. I received my Body Sugaring Practitioner certificate through Alexandria Professional, my Reflexology through Joyessence Aromatherapy Centre and my Myomassology  Practitioner diploma (Relaxation Massage) through Aromatica Centre for Natural Therapies & Holistic Study.  I am currently a member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC) and I am registered with RMQ (coalition of massage therapist of Quebec).

Body Sugaring:

Body Sugaring is an all-natural method of hair removal.

One of the big benefits of sugaring is that it is done with an all-natural sugar paste. It is made using only natural sugar, water, and lemon juice. You could eat it if you so choose. All products used during treatments are all-natural. Sugar inhibits microbial growth and will last for years. You only need one ball of sugar for an entire treatment so there is no dipping back into the sugar container. Also, because sugar paste is all natural and water soluble, it is easily rinsed away with warm water from any surface, including clothing.

Sugaring is done at body temperature so there is never a risk of burning the skin during treatments. Sugar does not adhere to live skin cells, therefore when it is removed, it only removes the dead skin cells along with the hair. This leaves behind fresh, exfoliated, hair free skin that glows.

With sugaring, hair is removed in the natural direction of the hair growth. With the proper sugaring technique the sugar paste seeps into the hair follicle which helps to lubricate the hair root allowing for smoother removal.  The hair should be no longer than a 1/4 inch when being sugared, eliminating the need to grow your hair long before having it removed.  With sugaring, any redness following treatment is quick to disappear.

Following a proper sugaring schedule will help lead to permanent hair reduction.

Waxing:

Two different methods of waxing are offered at The Sugar Shack Spa, Traditional Waxing and Sugar Waxing.  Sugar Waxing uses an all-natural sugar paste very similar to the sugar used with Body Sugaring but it is applied and removed with the same method of Traditional Waxing.

Relaxation Massage:

Along with Swedish massage, unique massage techniques can be added in to customize the massage to the individuals needs, such as deep tissue, cranial sacral, contraction release and other techniques.

Along with relaxing the muscles, it also relaxes the mind!
